Sarah Mitchell


Having qualified in 1993, Sarah Mitchell joined Jefferies Essex LLP in 1996 quickly rising to become a partner in 1999 and then Managing Partner in 2001. As Managing Partner Sarah has overall responsibility of the practice which includes staff training and support, finance, recruitment and compliance.

Since qualifying Sarah has specialised in Claimant personal injury work, specifically in the area of clinical negligence, and has worked on a number of high value, catastrophic claims over the years. In her time Sarah has secured high levels of compensation for many people in the Southend area who have suffered horrific injuries and required extensive long term rehabilitation and care.

Sarah understands the hardships that come about as a result of serious injuries and draws upon her years of experience to provide compassionate legal help for those in the most dire of circumstances.

Benjamin Ho


Ben joined Jefferies Essex LLP in 2013 as a paralegal. Shortly thereafter he secured his training contract, qualifying into the Civil Litigation Department at the beginning of 2016 – specialising in the area of personal injury.

Since qualifying Ben has handled an array of personal injury claims to include employer’s liability, public liability and road traffic accidents. Ben manages a varied caseload which includes actions against local Trust hospitals which have appeared in the Royal Courts of Justice. He has also dedicated some of his time to pro-bona work and most recently he has represented a family of a young man who committed suicide whilst in prison.

Ben has a unique understanding of the difficulties caused by serious injuries and appreciates the need for matters to be handled in a sensitive, yet professional, manner.
